Look up the input field named symbol_name among bindings and return its value on every locally owned active cell of properties_dh, in the order of active_cell_iterators().

The name is the symbol the field has in the “Input file fields” entry of the parameter file (for example “vessel_id”). Fields stored per cell are constant on a cell. Point fields are evaluated at the cell midpoint. Throws if no binding has that name.

properties must have up-to-date ghost values.
