Changes and investigations

This directory contains dated records of changes that need more context than a commit message. Each entry should state the motivation, hypothesis, exact change, validation command, evidence, and conclusion.

Runtime output stays outside the source tree. Entries preserve important excerpts and commands without copying generated result files into the repository.

Older merged pull requests should be added as one dated entry per coherent change, rather than as a mechanically generated commit dump.
